Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries
The Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries is responsible for providing dynamic leadership, oversight, and coordination as we seek to build positive relationships with children (birth through grade 6), youth (grades 7 through 12) and their families.
Essential functions of this position include building, equipping, training and empowering a team of volunteers to provide vision, inspiration, direction and support for such ministries as Sunday education, midweek gatherings, children and youth events and mission trips. Additionally, this position will work alongside the Lead Pastor in the implementation and coordination of the confirmation ministry.
Candidates need to be able to communicate with the youth and families of Ascension, connecting with them through a variety of social media platforms and electronic communications formats. In addition, minimum computer skills required include Microsoft Office (Publisher, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and the knowledge of or the ability to learn website software.
The selected candidate will maintain regular, scheduled office hours of 24 hours per week, plus 16 hours per week that are flexible to participate in Sunday morning and midweek evening events, planning meetings, and other program events as needed. The work week needs to provide ample opportunity for staff, volunteers and families to connect and build relationships with the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries.
