One of our staff members once read a statement that went something like this: “God is so desperately in love with us that His deepest desire is to help His children get back home.”  What a neat way to think about God!  And that means our role as followers of Jesus is basically to “help people get back home to God.”  We ourselves are not there yet – but we too are on our way.

What do you call someone who is on that road?  One way to answer that is with the word “disciple.”

And as disciples of Jesus, we seek to follow God’s call.  In doing so, we keep asking two simple questions:

  1. What’s God calling me (us) to do?
  2. What am I (are we) going to do about it?

Individually and collectively, as we work on these questions, we are following Jesus back home to God.
